I think the poem was about a man and his dogs herding and grazing cattle. The dogs were like family to the man so when the man from the city came to tell him to get off his land it made him feel like he had nothing left to give. Because of that he shot his dogs and then himself. I think the author wrote this poem for this topic because he told a story about a mans life and he said the purpose of poetry is to tell us about life.

TOUCH

My favorite sense is touch. This sense makes my life better because if I need to do something with my hands then I will be able to feel what is sharp. Also if I was swimming in a lake then I could feel the bottom. I also like to feel what I am eating. Life wouldn’t be the same without my sense of touch.

If I didn’t have my sense of touch then I wouldn’t know when something was biting me. I also wouldn’t know when I was standing on something sharp. I also wouldn’t be able to feel the coolness of the water. My brother could hit me and it wouldn’t hurt. I also could fall and not feel anything.

My Baseball Bat

I could swing my bat so hard
It would bend through the air
Then CRACK!

It split in two
Right in half

My first 22

It was Christmas morning I finished opening all my presents then I saw something that caught my eye. I saw it was a sock  so I didn’t think much of it. when I was about to start playing with all the things I  got. Mom said  to pull on the sock.At first I thought I was going to go put it in the dirty cloths basket. Inside that sock was a lever action 22. I was so excited. I had been wanting one for along time.
That one  gift made this Christmas the best ever. Now all I want to do is go squirel  hunting. That is the most memorable moment of Christmas break.

My First Homerun

Strike! I was down in the count 0-1.First game first at bat of the state tournament.The first time we had ever made it to the tournament.The next pitch I hit a hard ground ball between first and second. Later that inning I came around to score.
Next inning  I came up to bat the score was 3-2. we were winning but  they still had a little bit of momentum .The coach told me I’m on my own. First pitch was a strike.I could have bunted my way on but I wanted to hit away.Then strike two.I was down 0-2 .Then the pitcher threw me one high and down the middle.I swung, as I was rounding first coach told me it was over.I could not believe it!
Later that week my team won the state tournament.I was even more excited than I would have been if I would not have hit the homerun.
